Height and zoning. A large open plan with a few counters scattered across it looks under-occupied, whereas defined areas — a welcome point, a product zone, meeting space, a demonstration area — make the same floor feel purposeful. Use vertical structure and overhead elements rather than filling the floor with furniture, since clutter at ground level blocks sightlines while height draws people from across the hall.

Should meeting rooms be fully enclosed or semi-open? +

Fully enclosed rooms give genuine privacy and quiet, but a solid box facing an aisle makes the stand look shut. Semi-open rooms keep the stand feeling alive at the cost of confidentiality. A common compromise is to enclose the sides facing neighbouring stands and leave the aisle-facing side glazed or partially open. Whichever you choose, plan lighting and ventilation inside, because enclosed rooms in a busy hall get warm and dark faster than people expect.
