SEG Pop-Up Fabric Displays

SEG pop-ups give you the speed of a concertina frame with the flush, seamless finish of a built stand, so a portable display reads as permanent architecture on the aisle.

Always a pleasure to work with Backdropsource! We've ordered several event banners through the company; they are always very helpful, fast, and the banners themselves are of great quality and easy to set up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the silicone edge add to a pop-up frame? +
A thin silicone strip is sewn around the perimeter of the printed skin and pushes into a groove in the aluminium frame. The result is a tight, evenly tensioned surface with the graphic finishing flush at the edge, so there is no visible hook-and-loop tape, no overlap line and no frame showing through. It is the difference between a display that looks portable and one that reads as a built stand.
How do I fit an SEG skin without ripples? +
Start by seating the silicone strip at all four corners, then work to the midpoint of each side, then fill in the gaps between. If you push one full edge home first, the fabric ends up short on the opposite side and you will fight it into place, which stretches the beading. Any slight waviness left after fitting normally settles within an hour as the fabric relaxes. If a section refuses to sit, take that edge out and re-seat it rather than pulling harder.
Can I keep the frame and change the graphics? +
Yes, and it is the main long-term saving with this system. The aluminium frame is the expensive, durable part; the printed skin is a consumable that rolls up small enough to post. Reordering a fresh skin for a new campaign, a rebrand or a different event message costs a fraction of a new display, and it means you can hold two or three sets of graphics for the same hardware.
What changes when the display is backlit? +
The Backlit SEG Pop-Up Straight Display lights the graphic from behind, and artwork behaves very differently when light passes through it. Pale tints wash out almost completely, so mid tones need strengthening, while large solid blacks lose their depth and can look grey. Fine detail and small reversed-out text also soften once illuminated. Ask for a backlit-specific file setup rather than sending the same artwork you use for a standard front-lit wall.
How do I choose between a 3m x 3m and a 6m x 3m layout? +
The decision is made by your floor plan, not your budget. A 3m x 3m footprint gives you a single strong message face and room for a counter, which is right for lead capture and short conversations. A 6m x 3m layout gives enough frontage for two zones, so you can hold demonstrations at one end and meetings at the other. On a larger plot at ExCeL London, splitting the space this way stops one busy demonstration blocking everyone else.
What should I check before mounting a screen on the display? +
The SEG Popup Display with TV Mount & External Shelves carries a monitor within the frame, so confirm your screen size and VESA pattern against the product specification before ordering. Position the screen so the centre sits near standing eye level rather than high on the wall, which forces visitors to crane upwards. Plan the power and signal cable route through the frame in advance, and bring your own extension lead and adaptors, as venue sockets are rarely where you expect them.
Are the counters worth adding? +
A counter does more work than its size suggests: it holds literature and giveaways, hides bags and coats, and creates a natural place for a conversation to happen away from the aisle. The SEG Fabric Pop Up Counter matches the wall finish so the stand reads as one design, and the SEG Fabric Backlit Pop Up Counter adds an illuminated face that stays visible when the hall lights drop for an evening session.
How does delivery work and what is covered if something arrives damaged? +
UK delivery is free on these kits, and the frame, skin and any lighting or shelving components are packed together so nothing arrives in separate consignments. Open and check the case on arrival rather than on the morning of the show, and confirm that feet, connectors and cables are all present. Every product carries a 1-year warranty, and after 21 years of trading we can usually get a replacement part to you quickly. Contact support@backdropsource.co.uk or +44 1628 904 188.
