Frequently Asked Questions

What is a step and repeat backdrop? +
A step and repeat backdrop is a printed wall that repeats logos in a grid, so your brand appears in every photo however it is cropped. It is used at press calls, premieres, awards nights and sponsored events. Our Tension Fabric Step & Repeat Display Wall starts at £129 and arrives with its frame, printed graphic and carry bag.
How big should a photo backdrop be for a group? +
A photo backdrop should be wider than the group standing in front of it, with extra space on each side so the edges stay out of frame. For individuals or couples, a selfie frame or circle backdrop works well. For groups of guests or press line-ups, a full-height straight or curved media wall is the better choice.
What is the difference between a pop-up and a tension fabric backdrop? +
A pop-up backdrop uses a collapsible frame that expands in one movement and takes a Velcro-attached graphic. A tension fabric backdrop uses push-together tubes, with a zipped graphic that slides over the frame. Pop-ups are quicker to put up. Tension fabric offers more shapes, including curved, S-shaped and 3D designs.
Can I use these backdrops for a photoshoot? +
Yes, our fabric displays work well as photoshoot backdrops, especially for branded content, product launches and influencer events. Because the graphic is pulled taut over the frame, it gives a smooth background. If you only need a plain colour for occasional studio work, a paper roll may be enough. For repeated branded shoots, fabric lasts longer.
How do I hang a photo backdrop without a stand? +
You can hang a backdrop without a floor stand by using a clamp-based or suspended display. The Custom Retractable Fabric Wall Hanging Backdrop with Clamps (from £115) mounts directly against a surface. Our Sky Tube hanging banners suspend from the ceiling above a stand, and work well where floor space is limited.
Are these suitable as festival or stage backdrops? +
Yes, many of our displays suit festivals and stages, particularly the taller frames. The Portable 3.2m H High Fabric Exhibit Display (from £111) gives height behind performers, and arches create entrances. For outdoor festivals, check the forecast and venue conditions, and choose a sheltered position for any freestanding display.
How do I fold a pop-up photo backdrop? +
To fold a pop-up photo backdrop, first remove the Velcro-attached fabric graphic. Then push the frame's hubs inwards so the frame collapses back into a compact bundle. Pack the frame and the folded graphic into the supplied carry bag. Dye-sublimated fabric is designed to be folded for transport between events.
Do you offer custom backdrop printing for UK events? +
Yes, every backdrop in this collection is custom printed with your own artwork for UK events, using dye-sublimation on fabric. You can request a free design proof with unlimited revisions before you commit. Production starts within 24 business hours of your approval, so we recommend ordering well ahead of your event date.
